June 9 has delivered several notable moments in rock history. In 1972, Bruce Springsteen signed with Columbia Records and began forming the E Street Band, laying the foundation for his debut album, Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J.
In 1978, The Rolling Stones released Some Girls, the first album featuring Ronnie Wood as a full-time member. The Doobie Brothers reunited in 1989 after a seven-year break, while Radiohead released Hail to the Thief in 2003.
And in a memorable rock-and-roll clash, Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher and Simply Red singer Mick Hucknall were involved in a hotel bar altercation in London in 1998.
